In today's digitally driven world, content creation has transcended mere entertainment. It has become a powerful tool for fostering connections, sparking conversations, and sending impactful messages. As an influencer, Dhana Bunel takes the role seriously because she knows how much her message and platform can encourage other women, especially mothers like her.
Becoming a mother opened Dhana to a new world and its opportunities. She understands the struggles that come with motherhood because she faced it herself. Motherhood can be challenging and different for each person. For Dhana, she felt happy for the opportunity to care for her precious son but lost a significant part of her career. Moreover, she’s not ignorant about the pressure society imposes on mothers.
“Society makes us believe that we need to be successful in our professional careers and be present and do the job at home and take care of our kids, husbands, family members but also look good and be presentable,” she said. “But we are also human beings that get tired. We make mistakes and must keep them together and handle them in private. We need to be a rock for our family.”
Despite being overwhelmed by motherhood at first, Dhana eventually learned to love herself. She embraced the skin she was in and turned her love for fashion into something she could share with other mothers across the globe.
In January 2022, she made her Instagram personal account (@dhanabunel) public to share her fashion style and sensitivity with the world. It didn’t take long for her to grow her audience consistently. Mothers loved her style and saw her as an inspiration for self-love and personal growth. Their community also enabled them to connect and lift one another as they navigate life.
“We are so much controlled and compared in this society that to find ourselves, and love is almost a miracle. My IG helped me to find my true self, and I am happy to spread the word to others on the importance of self-respect, self-growth, and self-love,” Dhana said.
Throughout her content, Dhana spreads a message of accepting beauty in imperfection and embracing uniqueness.
Still, being an influencer isn’t the only way Dhana leaves her mark on society. She has always considered herself an entrepreneur above anything else. So, when the opportunity presented itself, Dhana didn’t shy away and took on another role wholeheartedly.
Her recent undertaking is being the CEO of Chez Graze, a catering service that offers high-quality charcuterie boards and spreads for various occasions. But like Dhana, Chez Graze has a holistic approach and higher purpose.
“I am creating something different. It’s a first step or brick in a company that will help me and women like me who have to overcome this challenging moment of a woman's life and get to the other side,” Dhana said.
As CEO, Dhana ensures that Chez Graze provides “The Art of Gourmet Health.” It presents fruits and vegetables as the highlight, alongside charcuterie and cheese, on a tray decorated with edible flowers and other elements. Moreover, Chez Graze hires women and mothers to empower them to find a career in the food business, which is widely known to be male-dominated.
Dhana’s journey is far from over. One could argue that she’s just started. However, there’s no denying she’s leaving a lasting mark on her community by thinking of well-rounded approaches to empower women like her to take charge of their lives and prove that gender isn’t a limitation on what they can do.
