Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Got Married in a Low-Key Wedding in Vegas

JLo and Ben Affleck surprised their fans today announcing their spontaneous low-key wedding in Vegas, where they stood in line in the middle of the night to tell each other “yes, I do”.

Jennifer Lopez explained it all in her newsletter.

“We flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” Lopez wrote.

She continued: “We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).”

The wedding included “a dress from an old movie” and a jacket from Affleck’s closet, Lopez said. “In the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined,” Lopez wrote.

She added: “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”

Affleck has not yet commented publicly. Representatives for the stars did not immediately respond to requests for comments on Sunday.

The couple announced their engagement in April, when Lopez shared a video of herself wearing a giant green engagement ring.

In 2020, Affleck spoke with The New York Times about having faced alcoholism and mental health challenges in recent years. He said during the interview that his 2018 divorce from Garner was the “biggest regret” of his life.

In February, Lopez talked about her relationship with Affleck on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” saying she had not expected to get back together with him after nearly two decades. “I don’t think anybody was more surprised than us,” she said with a laugh, adding, “It’s a beautiful thing.”
