Karim Lameda's "Tropicana City": A New York Fashion Week Debut

Karim Lameda is a talented Venezuelan fashion designer, mother, and visionary. She is also the founder of Fashion Sketch & Stitch: Day of Creativity, a project dedicated to developing emerging talent in the fashion world.



In 2013, Karim founded her swimwear and beachwear brand, Kalu Swimwear, in Venezuela. Five years ago, she emigrated to New York City, where her story as an immigrant entrepreneur was featured in the book Successful Businesswomen: Women Who Inspire Volume II and recognized at the 8th Global Women’s Summit in New York.



In 2022, she presented her collection on the "Quizqueya es Moda" platform in New York, and in 2023, she participated in the renowned "New Jersey Fashion Week."



For 2024, Karim is excited to showcase her new collection on the prestigious @nyfw_AM by Adriana Maurera platform during New York Fashion Week, titled:“Tropicana City”

This collection is not just a fashion statement; it represents a commitment to quality and sustainability. Lace, sheer fabrics, and pearls are the standout elements, creating a sophisticated and elegant proposal that enhances the attributes of women who want to combine the magic of swimwear with urban life, adding a glamorous touch inspired by the vibrant and unique city of New York.



The collection includes classic skirts paired with corset-style tops, designs intended to flatter different body types, emphasizing diversity and female beauty. Each piece embodies the essence of a timeless, comfortable, and eco-conscious style.
