Silencio Margarita By Julian Thomas Cox

For those who have spent time in the world of cocktails and mixology, Julian Thomas Cox is a familiar name of great renown as he is a 4 time James Beard Award Nominee and was named one of the decade's Most Influential Mixologists by Food & Wine.

Mezcal El Silencio teamed up with Julian to present his version of a Silencio Margarita that is easy enough to make at home while still being sophisticated enough for classic cocktail lovers.

Ingredients

2oz Mezcal El Silencio Espadin

1oz Lemon & Lime Juice Blend

1 Lime Husk

1oz Citrus Infused Agave Syrup (1:1 Agave to Water)

Garnish: Citrus Flake Salt Rim

Method

Pour flake salt into a mortar & pestle. Add lemon & lime zest and work together inside the mortar & pestle until combined. When the salt has taken on the lemon & lime zest, pour onto a flat plate.

Rub a wedge of lime or lemon around the rim of the glass, then dip into the citrus salt. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Add Mezcal El Silencio, Lime Husk, Syrup, and Lemon & Lime Juice Blend into the ice filled shaker.

Shake for 10 seconds.

Strain into the prepared glass.

And enjoy!
